बंजारा, पूरे देश में फैला हुआ सबसे बड़ा जनजाति वांशिक समूह,  30 से 31 जनवरी, 1953 को, ठक्कर बाप्पा नगर, दिग्रस, जिला यवतमाल, (तत्कालीन स्वतंत्र मध्य भारत) में महानायक श्री.वसंतराव फुलसिंग नाईक (तत्कालीन उप राजस्व मंत्री मध्य प्रदेश और महाराष्ट्र राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री) के नेतृत्व में आम मंच पर इकट्ठा हुआ था। राष्ट्रीय बंजारा मोफत छात्रावास (निःशुल्क बोर्डिंग और लॉजिंग) में रहने वाले जिन युवाओं के मन में एक विचार अंकुरित हुआ था और वे युवा छात्र थे, श्री. प्रतापसिंग आडे, डॉ. आर.आर. राठोड़ और श्री. गजाधर राठोड़ को उनके सलाहकार के रूप में बंजारा समुदाय का एक संगठन, 'सी.पी अँड बेरार बंजारा युवक परिषद (संघ) नामक संघठन बनाया गया था। और जिसकी परिणति श्री. वसंतराव नाईक के नेतृत्व में और उनके भाई श्री. बाबासाहेब (राजुसिं नाईक) की सलाह पर पद्मश्री श्री. रामसिंगजी भानावत, श्री. प्रताप सिंग आडे, श्री. बाबुसिंग राठोड़, श्री. मुडे गुरुजी, श्री. गजाधर राठोड़, श्री.हीरा सदा पवार, श्री.सोनबा चंदू नाईक, श्री. हरजी नायक और अन्य के साथ मिलकर *"अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ" (AIBSS)* नामक सामाजिक संगठन के गठन में हुई। 

अत:"अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ" (AIBSS) का प्रथम सम्मेलन दिग्रस के कॉटन मार्केट के मैदान पर आयोजित किया गया। इस अवसर पर श्री. लालबहादुरजी शास्त्री (तत्कालीन रेल मंत्री, भारत सरकार) ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में शिरकत की और सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता श्री. वसंतराव नाईक ने की। इस प्रथम सम्मेलन में "अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ" (AIBSS) के नाम और शीर्षक से यह संगठन बनाने का संकल्प लिया गया था।  श्री. उत्तमराव बलिराम राठोड़ (तत्कालीन एम.ए. के छात्र) संघ के पहले संस्थापक अध्यक्ष और श्री. प्रतापसिंह आडे, महासचिव के रूप में चुने गए थे। तब से अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ" (AIBSS) एक सामाजिक/स्वैच्छिक संगठन के रूप में काम कर रहा है। देश के बंजारों को शिक्षित करने, संगठित करने और एकजुट करने के लिए, समग्र सुधार कार्यक्रमों और देश के बंजारों के उत्थान के लिए यह संगठन निरंतर काम कर रहा है।

तदनुसार अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ देश के बंजारों के सामाजिक सुधारों, आर्थिक और शैक्षिक विकास के लिए विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। उनके अधिकारों और विशेषाधिकारों के संरक्षण के लिए यह संगठन काम करते आ रहा है। साथ ही देश के कई राज्यों में रहने वाले बंजारों जो अलग-अलग नामों से जाने जाते है, यानी उनकी लगभग 31 पर्यायवाची नामों और 12 उप जातियाँ है। हालाँकि, वे मुख्य रूप से "बंजारा" या "गोर बंजारा" और "लमानी" के नाम से विशिष्ट लोकप्रियता से पहचाने जाते हैं। जैसे की बंजारा समुदाय राष्ट्र की संस्कृति के लिए एक चमकता हुआ प्रकाश स्तंभ है, यह संकल्प लिया गया था कि अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ को संवैधानिक तरीकों से, लोकतांत्रिक सिद्धांतों पर और शांतिपूर्ण दृष्टिकोण और तरीकों को अपनाकर अपने लक्ष्यों और उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करना चाहिए और संवैधानिक रूप से प्रदत्त मौलिक अधिकारों के तहत देश के संप्रभु गणराज्य में बंजारो को न्याय प्रदान करना चाहिए।

30 जनवरी, 1953 को श्री. वसंतराव नाईक के नेतृत्व इस सामाजिक संगठन का जन्म हुआ। 30 जनवरी, 2022 अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ का 69वां स्थापना दिवस है। संगठन के 69 वर्ष  बंजारा समुदाय के लिए अंतरंगता और विश्वास प्रतिबद्धता और सेवा के स्वर्णिम वर्ष है। कोर कमेटी ने 69 वां स्थापना दिवस 30 जनवरी, 2022 को महाराष्ट्र राज्य में मनाने का फैसला किया है, जहां संगठन का जन्म हुआ था।

1953 से, अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ यह बंजारो की मातृ संगठन के रूप में गोर पंचायतों (सामुदायिक बैठकें), सेमिनार, शिविर (श्रमिक प्रशिक्षण शिविर), क्षेत्रीय और राज्य, राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलनों और अखिल भारतीय आम सम्मेलनों से लोगों को शिक्षित करने, प्रेरित करने, संगठित करने, एकजुट करने और देश के अनपढ़ बंजारों में जागरूकता पैदा करना के लिए निरंतर कार्य कर रहा है। संघठन का मुख्य उद्देश्य "कश्मीर से कन्याकुमारी तक, और कच्छ के रण से असम / त्रिपुरा तक" पूरे देश में फैले बंजारों को एकजुट करने और एक आम मंच पर लाने के लिए काम करना था। आज AIBSS के नेशनल बंजारा प्रोफेसर्स एसोसिएशन, स्टेट बंजारा प्रोफेसर्स/टिचर्स एसोसिएशन,नेशनल बंजारा डॉक्टर्स एसोसिएशन जैसे विंग द्वारा बंजारा समाज के उत्थान के लिए विभिन्न सामाजिक गतिविधियां चल रही हैं। 

श्री. वसंतराव नाईक ने अपने राजनीतिक कार्यकाल के दौरान सामाजिक, नैतिक और राजनीतिक विचारधारा की एक मौलिक श्रृंखला प्रदान कर देश के विकास का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया। उन्होंने साहसपूर्वक, वाक्पटुता और अध्ययनशील राज नीतिज्ञता से महाराष्ट्र राज्य के सामाजिक, शैक्षिक, सांस्कृतिक, कृषि-औद्योगिक आदि परिवर्तन की अवधारणा को पेश कर महाराष्ट्र राज्य और अन्य राज्यों में बसे बंजारा समुदाय का सतत विकास का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया। उनकी दृष्टि और अभिव्यंजक प्रणाली, वैज्ञानिक और वैचारिक सोच और बुनियादी सिद्धांतों के अनुप्रयोग के कारण, महाराष्ट्र राज्य समृद्ध- 'सुजलम-सुफलाम' बन सका। साथ ही, उन्होंने अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ की स्थापना के माध्यम से देश के बंजारा समुदाय का स्वाभिमानी, राष्ट्रवाद, आत्मनिर्भरता और विकेंद्रित दृष्टिकोण का परिचय दुनियां को दिया। इस कारणवश, अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ का 69 वां स्थापना दिवस के माध्यम से उनके महान व्यक्तित्व और अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ को उजागर करना हमारा नैतिक कर्तव्य बनता है। इस विशेष ऐतिहासिक दिन के अवसर पर जब देश के पूरे बंजारा समुदाय को न केवल संघ की शुरुआत और इसके संस्थापकों को बल्कि इसकी स्थापना के बाद से संघ के महत्वपूर्ण विकासात्मक पहलुओं को भी प्रतिबिंबित करने की आज आवश्यकता है।

साथ ही, यह स्थापना दिन हमारे गौरवपूर्ण इतिहास का जश्न मनाने और संगठन की निरंतर यात्रा के साथ फिर से जुड़ने का ऐतिहासिक दिन है। जब हम मन, शरीर और आत्मा में विकसित होते हैं तो हम सीखने के आनंद का जश्न मनाते हैं, और इस स्थापना दिवस के तहत हम उस बंधन का जश्न मनाते हैं, जिसे हम अखिल भारतीय बंजारा सेवा संघ के अतीत और वर्तमान सदस्यों एंव देश के समस्त बंजारा भाईयों और बहनों के साथ साझा करना चाहते हैं।

Banjaras, a largest ethnic group of India, spread throughout the country, had gathered at Thakkar Bappa Nagar, on a common platform, on 30 th to 31st January, 1953, at Digaras Town, District Yavatmal, (the then Madhya Bharat of Independent India), under the leadership of Mahanayak Hon. Vasantrao Fulsingh Naik, (the then Deputy Revenue Minister & Chief Minister Of Maharashtra ) An idea had germinated in the minds of youths, staying in Rashtriya Banjara Mofat Chatralaya (free boarding and lodging hostel), those young students were Shri. Pratapsing Ade, Dr. R.R. Rathod and Shri. Gajadhar Rathod as their advisor, to form an organization called C.P. and Berar Banjara Yuvak Melav (Parishad) And the result of which under the leadership of Shri. Vasantrao Naik and on the advice of his brother Shri. Babasaheb (Rajusing) Naik   together with, Padmashree Shri.  Ramsingji Bhanawat, Shri. Pratapsing Ade, Shri. Babusing Rathod, Shri. Mude Guruji, Shri. Gajadhar Rathod, Shri. Hira Sada Pawar, Shri.Sonba Chandu Naik, Shri. Harji Nayak and others which culminated into formation of a social association called *"ALL INDIA BANJARA SEVA SANGH" (AIBSS)*

So the First Conference of AIBSS was organized on the Cotton Market Grounds, where Shri. Lalbahadur Shastriji (the then Railway Minister, Government of India) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and was presided over by Shri. Vasantrao Naik. In this First Conference it was resolved to organize and form an organisation by the name and title as *"ALL INDIA BANJARA SEVA SANGH" (AIBSS)*. Shri. Uttamrao Baliram Rathod (the then student of M.A.) was elected as the first Founder President of the Sangh and Shri. Pratapsing Ade as its General Secretary. Since then AIBSS has been working as a social and voluntary organization, to educate, to organize and to unite the Banjaras of the country for overall ameliorative programmes and upliftment of Banjaras of the country. 

Accordingly, different programmes were laid for Banjaras' social reforms, cultural, economic and educational developments. Also to work for the protection of the rights and privileges of Banjaras who staying in many states of the country, by different names, i.e. as many as about 31 synonyms and 12 sub-castes. However they are distinctly, prominently and popularly identified by the main name as *"BANJARA" OR "GOR BANJARA" and Lamanis.* As Banjara community is a shining beacon to the nation's culture, it was resolved that AIBSS should achieve its aims and objectives  by the constitutional means, on democratic principles and by adopting peaceful approaches and methods, under the constitutionally granted fundamental rights to citizens in sovereign republic India.

As on 30th January 1953,  AIBSS- social organization was born under the leadership of Shri. Vasantrao Naik. *January 30, 2022 is the 69th foundation day* of All India Banjara Seva Sangh. The 69 years of the organization are golden years of commitment, intimacy, trusting and service to the Banjara community. The Core Committee has decided to celebrate the 69th Foundation Day on 30th January, 2022 in Maharashtra State where the organization was born.

Since 1953, "All India Banjara Seva Sangh" as the mother organization of the Banjaras has been organizing Gor-Panchayats (community meetings), seminars, shibirs (workers training camps), regional and state conferences, all India general conferences,  national and international conferences to educate, motivate people and working relentlessly to organize, unite and create awareness among the illiterate Banjaras of the country. The main objective of organization was to work for the uniting and to bring Banjaras of the entire country on a common  platform right from "Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Rann of Kutch to Assam/Tripura". Today various social activities are going on for the upliftment of Banjara community by AIBSS wings like National Banjara Professors Association, State Banjara Professors/Teachers  Association,  National Banjara Doctors Association.

During the political tenure, Shri. Vasantrao Naik paved the way for the development of the country by providing a fundamental range of social, moral and political ideologies. He boldly and eloquently presented the concept of social, educational, cultural, agro-industrial transformation of the State of Maharashtra and paved the way for the sustainable development of the State of Maharashtra and the Banjara community of the country.  Due to his vision, studied statesmanship, application of expressive system, scientific and ideological thinking with basic and democratic principles, the state of Maharashtra could become prosperous- 'Sujalam-Sufalam'. At the same time, Shri. Vasantrao Naik introduced the self-respecting, nationalism, self-reliance and decentralized approach of the Banjara community in India through the establishment of the AlBSS. Hence, it is our moral duty to highlight his revolutionary personality and the historical approach of AIBSS by celebrating the 69th Foundation Day of AIBSS

On this special historic day when the entire Banjara community of the country needs to reflect not only on the beginning of the association and its founders but also on the important developmental aspects of the association since its inception. Also, this 69th foundation day is a special day to celebrate our majestic history and reconnect with the organization's continuing journey. We celebrate the joy of learning as we grow in mind, body and spirit, and as a part of this founding day, the bond shared with the past and present members of the All India Banjara Seva Sangh and with all the Banjara brothers and sisters across the country is to be celebrated.

It is with great pleasure that you are informed that under the guidance of the National Working President of AlBSS  Dr. T.  C. Rathod, National Working President Shri. D. Rama Nayak and National General Secretary Shri. Tukaram Pawar, the 69th Foundation Day of AIBSS is being celebrated with great enthusiasm on 30 January 2022 at Chandrapur city in the state of Maharashtra.

The event will be attended by many Banjara brothers and sisters and dignitaries from across the country. The main objective of this historic and important event is to make the State and Central government aware of the various demands and current issues of the Banjara community.
